my story

Ever since I was a kid I’ve had multiple creative outlets. I loved to draw (specifically horses) and write stories, and later picked up digital art as well as photography / cinematography. I have journals full of short stories, a short story that my mom “published” (she ordered a hardcover version on Shutterfly), and even filled an entire 150-page journal with one consecutive story written in 4th grade. I was obsessed with drawing horses everywhere, on every blank piece of paper I could find. I later picked up an obsession with perspective pieces, focusing on the detail of anatomy, and did a 15-piece AP Studio Art portfolio on horses.

When it came to photography, I was introduced to using a camera my freshman year of high school when I entered into the world of journalism. In the span of 4 years I went from news reporter → news editor → editor in chief, and picked up titles of social media editor + studio manager as well. It’s funny when people ask me if I’m going into journalism because of this and I say he-e-eck no! I’m an ag major! However, it sparked my interest in cameras and photography/videography. I got accustomed to using the Canon camera, multiple different lenses, using (almost) the entire Adobe Creator Suite, graphic design, multiple different mics, etc. Although journalism media isn’t super creative when it comes to getting shots, I saw potential in what I could do.

I’m blessed to say that I undeservedly recieved my entire setup — camera, most lenses, mics, chargers, even my SD card converter — entirely for free. I recieved them from my high school journalism program, Roseville High School’s Eye of the Tiger, after graduating. So, I intend to use everything to its fullest extent.

The verse above inspires me to keep hold of these God-given gifts and I am honored to be a “good steward of God’s varied grace.” I believe He has given me a creative eye that knows no bounds and exists on many fronts — and for that I am eternally grateful, because it has changed the way I see and experience the world.

driven by passion

I have been an equestrian since I was 7 years old, and before that I’d do anything to be around them, from trail rides in Tahoe to begging my mom to let me ride her college friend’s old horse. I started out riding hunter / jumpers and later switched to strictly jumpers after the purchase of my horse, Saaliyah, who had no idea what “cooling her jets” meant. I could go on and on about the blessing of my beautiful black mare and everything she’s taught me, but after 2 years of rehabbing from chronic laminitis and navicular (and a miraculous recovery), we became eventers, and I’ve fallen in love with it.

Above is a photo of Saaliyah clearing the last jump with a foot to spare at the Woodside Spring Horse Trials in 2025!
